Salacious delirium by Eric Nunnally

I have bitten the smooth edges of my teeth
into the fine texture of her lip
with a trembling will
Terrified of the look of the inflamed healing wound I might leave
But so inebriated by that precious moment
When her eyes were filled with
Fear and daring and permission
That her warm spicy breath made my stomach growl

And I have never tasted red so tepid before
As when clear tears wet the love in her eyes for me
And I would have let her cut me open
To bury her face in my heart
If she wanted to

I have tattooed the holy glyphs of my passions all over her body
And have worshipped in her temple as a monk devoted to reaching heaven through her
She is my illusion, my angelic dance
I have acquired a taste for her bitterness
And she has given me everything to devour
Beautiful in the vulnerability of her giving
My most desired love
Because she has imprinted her soul on me
Enslaving me to myself
For I would love the demon in her and restore her with my sacrifice
As long as her eyes would not give up on me

She is the dream
My salacious delirium
